Of course, we again visited a nearby patisserie before we set off for the airport.
Some final pictures of the neighbourhood as we bid it adieu.
We made our way out to the airport. Now, I found this morning extremely stressful. I tried to keep my worry to myself, and I kept telling myself that it would all be ok, but I'd discovered the night before that I had booked the plane ticket for Sequoia in her assumed name (my last name that she uses as school) and not the name on her passport.
When I went to amend it online, they wanted €50 to change the name. I decided to leave it and hope that we could sort it out at the airport, but I kept thinking that there is no way that they would let us travel between countries with the name incorrect on her ticket.
She did have her student card with her and the woman who checked in our bags and issued our tickets didn't seem overly concerned.
We made our way through the boarding gate and by some fluke they did not check our passports (yay for the European Union open borders).
I was very sad to say goodbye to Paris, but grateful to be in the air without a big chunk of our budget missing.
Being such a short flight from Paris to Barcelona, we flew really quite low and the views were spectacular.
Next thing we knew, we were in Spain! We checked into our hotel room, which felt like a palace after our tiny little Paris apartment. I swear our new bathroom is bigger than the entire apartment!
We put on some of our warm-weather wear and started out for Barceloneta Beach.
Along the way, we encountered a funfair along the boardwalk.
They have a huge Ferris wheel not unlike in London and Singapore, so we decided to take a ride and get the lay of the land.
The beach was lovely, but the water was absolutely freezing!
I'm already in love with the Spanish architecture.
After such a relentless itinerary, we decided to have some time to recover and had a rather early night.
